Chiles and Bully in the shirts that hurt
It is a sight Black Country football fans never thought they would see; Wolves legend Steve Bull back in Baggies stripes – and Albion superfan Adrian Chiles in gold and black.

But the pair put their football loyalties to one side by pulling on the shirt of their arch rivals.

Adrian was challenged to pull on a Wolves top during last night’s Match of the Day 2 by BBC Radio 5Live DJ Danny Baker, who is raising money for Sport Relief by challenging celebrities to put on “The Shirt of Hurt” – the colours of their biggest rivals.

And he knew then that the stunt would make headlines. Speaking on Radio 5Live yesterday he said: “I strongly suspect I will make the front page of the Express & Star on Monday.

“I have never been there before but I think this could be the moment.”

He threw down the gauntlet to Steve Bull saying he and Robert Plant were the Wolves fans he would most like to see in Albion colours.

“Somewhere there’s a West Brom shirt with Bully’s name on it,” he joked.

And this morning Bully took up the challenge – all in the name of Sport Relief.

Steve, who made his senior debut for Albion back in 1985 before making his name as a Wolves legend, said: “It hurts but it is all for charity. It has been more than 20 years since I had a West Brom shirt on and it feels very strange.”

Standing outside Molineux wearing the Baggies shirt, he added: “I am sure the fans will know it is all just for charity and I don’t really mean it!

“There are a lot of Wolves fans who wouldn’t go near a West Brom shirt never mind wear one but you have to push yourself for charity.

“This is probably one of the worst things but it is certainly worth it for such a good cause.”

A number of celebrities have signed up to take on challenges to raise cash for this year’s Sport Relief campaign.

Among them are Adrian Chiles’ The One Show co-presenter Christine Bleakley, who is water-skiing across the English Channel.

Adrian made it clear how unhappy he was to pull on the Wolves’ old gold shirt, claiming: “What a horrible colour that is – even Wolves fans must admit that.”

Sport Relief runs from March 19 to 21.
